Information for Servicing Clients

General:

Why is my Financial Institution partnering with Midwest Loan Services (MLS) for the servicing of my mortgage loan?

Midwest Loan Services has specific expertise in the area of mortgage loan servicing which allows us to offer our borrower’s additional benefits and services. Once the transition occurs, you will have new options for making payments and accessing information about your mortgage account.

Has my mortgage been sold to MLS?

No, your mortgage has not been sold. MLS will simply be performing the servicing of the loan, which means they’ll take your payments, pay your taxes and insurance, and handle any questions you may have about your loan.

How do I contact MLS when I have questions about the servicing of my mortgage loan?

You can contact the Midwest Customer Service Center at 1-800-262-6574 from 8am to 8pm EST. You can also view your current mortgage statement online 24/7 at www.midwestloanservices.com.

Will my loan number be changing?

Yes, you will be assigned a Midwest loan number. You will use this number to register for access to your account online. You should always refer to this loan number when contacting Midwest about your loan.

Will any of the terms of my mortgage change?

No, your mortgage will continue to be serviced under the original terms.

How will I report interest paid for the tax year?

You will receive two mortgage tax and interest statements (Form1098) in January; one from the financial institution for the time they serviced your loan and one from Midwest from the time they serviced your loan.

Payments:

My mortgage is currently being drafted automatically from my checking/savings account. Will this service continue when my loan transfers to Midwest Loan Services?

If your payment is currently drafted automatically, you will need to set up a new automatic payment with Midwest. Your prior draft authorization will no longer apply once the loan transfers to Midwest. There are several payment options. Once you have your deposit account information ready, you may either:

  1. Contact Midwest Loan Services at 1-800-262-6574 between the hours of 8am and 8pm EST, to speak to a representative to authorize MLS to draft your recurring ACH payments from your deposit account,
  2. Call 1-800-262-6574 anytime, 24/7, and choose to schedule your recurring ACH payments using the Integrated Voice Response system, or
  3. Register for your online account at www.midwestloanservices.com and schedule your recurring payments online. Simply for to www.midwestloanservices.com and register. From there, click the Payments link and fill all the required information to submit your payment.
Can I still pay my mortgage through a bill pay service?
