I believe that understanding how to match the right home loan solution with each individual client’s goals and specific scenario is key to a successful mortgage loan closing - starting with the very first conversation. So, the client and I have a thorough discussion up-front to ensure the best chances of success. Throughout the home loan process, communication and execution continue through closing and beyond. In addition, being available and providing education to my clients is a priority for me because informed clients make better decisions, close their loans on time, and feel good about those decisions.  At the end of the day, my success is measured not in the loans that I close, but in the satisfaction of knowing my clients have achieved their personal homeownership and/or financial goals in the process.  

The level of service I provide is not just because of me. I have the best team headed by Amy Kurtyka who is the main point of contact with underwriting, closing attorneys, and appraisers.  She is the best at moving a file efficiently through to closing and is a great problem solver. Also, she happens to be my sister and we have worked together for 18 years in the mortgage business.

Personal Side of Russell Smith

My favorite thing to do is hang out with my wife Angela and our children Anna and Drew (and our cat May). You just don’t know how proud I am of my family. In addition, I enjoy hanging out with friends and family, golfing, trying to live a healthy lifestyle, working in our yard, helping others, and believe it or not, I get a kick out of mortgages. Actually, I’m more like a mortgage geek and have even written hundreds of blog articles on mortgage and real estate solutions. Many of my articles rank number one on Google.
